I am interested in starting a business. Perhaps a coffee shop,where do I begin?

I am still in school and won’t be starting the business for some time. I just want to start thinking of ways to improve my chances of having a successful business and where to begin. If anyone out there has a small business I would love some pointers.
Well one you have to have a business plan. you have to know how much your going to spend and invest in the business and how much you think you would make in a yrs. time of the business. its also good to have it in a good location where you know alot of people would come
